Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who starting the modern scientific study of children's witness memory as well as child victim witnesses within court contexts. Prof. Goodman has published numerous papers, received many grants and has been awarded numerous national and international distinctions. She works with a variety of nations and organizations around the world regarding policies and the research of children's victimization within the court system. She is currently a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
